Job description

Reports to: Senior Manager, Technical Training

Location: Remote US

Compensation Range: $105,000 to $140,000 base plus bonus and equity

What We Do:

Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That's why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers' protection.

Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 14M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.

What You'll Do:

The Senior Instructional Designer is where curriculum meets delivery. Working closely with the Training Manager and broader enablement functions, you will bring Huntress's security training programs to life through instructor-led experiences that are sharp, relevant, and built for retention. In this role, you are not just presenting slides. You are the person in the room reading the audience, adjusting in real time, and ensuring that what gets taught actually sticks.

This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable facilitating a live session and rolling up their sleeves to build the content that drives it, with the balance tilted toward content. Where gaps exist, you will create. Where materials are outdated or ineffective, you will improve them. The impact is direct: every analyst, responder, or security team member who leaves a session with sharper skills and clearer operational understanding is a direct result of this work.

We expect everyone at Huntress to use AI as a real part of how they work, not occasionally, but genuinely embedded in core workflows. Be ready to share how you use AI today and what it's helped you accomplish.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Sr. Manager, Technical Training and subject matter experts to conduct needs analysis, identify performance and knowledge gaps, and translate those gaps into structured learning solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain modular technical learning experiences for the security organization, including self-paced content, live sessions, practice activities, job aids, and role-specific onboarding assets.
  • Assess training effectiveness through learner feedback, knowledge validation, and most importantly performance signal, using the results to refine content, improve learning experiences, and support stronger operational outcomes.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts across the security organization to ensure training reflects accurate, up-to-date detection and response knowledge.
  • Deliver instructor-led training selectively across live virtual and onboarding formats when that modality is the best fit for the learning objective, audience, or operational need
  • Partner with stakeholders across organizations to translate operational realities, product behavior, and tribal knowledge into clear, accurate documentation that practitioners can trust during live cases and investigations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years designing, developing, and delivering technical training in a cybersecurity or similarly complex technical environment, with content creation as the primary focus and instructor-led facilitation as a secondary but important part of the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical security concepts into clear, accessible learning experiences for audiences with varying levels of expertise.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where programs are still being built and the ability to create structure independently is as important as following it.
  • Familiarity with modern training tools and LMS platforms, with the ability to move between facilitation and content creation without losing momentum.

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015
  • Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
  • 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
  • Life and Disability insurance plans
  • Stock options for all full-time employees
  • One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
  • Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
  • $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
  • Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth

We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
