Job description

Job Title: Senior Accounting & Operations Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accounting & Operations Manager to serve as the financial and administrative backbone for our department. You will be responsible for the accuracy of our financial records, the efficiency of our monthly reporting cycles, and the day-to-day operational health of our office.
This is a "hands-on" leadership role. We are looking for an experienced professional who is comfortable performing detailed accounting work-such as complex journal entries, reconciliations, and budget tracking-while simultaneously providing guidance to administrative staff and acting as the primary liaison for internal and vendor-related financial inquiries. If you are a detail-oriented expert who enjoys both the technical side of accounting and the operational side of office management, this role is a perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
• General Ledger & Closing: Execute and oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entry input, month-end balancing, and the maintenance of complex financial records.
• Financial Analysis: Lead the preparation of financial reports and documentation. Provide detailed research and resolution for discrepancies or errors in financial data.
• Budget Management: Assist in budget development and ongoing management. Maintain budget summaries, track changes, and provide insights into departmental cash flow and financial health.
Operational Leadership
• Departmental Liaison: Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding vendor charges, department expenses, and financial requests.
• Team Guidance: Provide technical mentorship and workflow direction to administrative team members, ensuring that daily transaction processing meets our quality standards.
• Administrative Oversight: Manage special projects and office administrative functions (including inventory, supply procurement, and process documentation) to ensure seamless business operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: 10-15 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and operational support.
• Technical Mastery: Advanced knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Proficiency in enterprise-level accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage workflows, lead process improvements, and guide junior staff.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; you must be comfortable acting as a professional liaison between internal departments and external vendors.
Preferred Attributes
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• A proactive, "do-what-it-takes" mindset-someone who balances high-level financial reporting with the necessary administrative tasks that keep the office running.
