General Accounting Manager – Corporate Full-Time, Days

Supervises directly an Accounting Senior Associate (Senior Accountant) and indirectly an Accounting Associate (Accountant)

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates month-end closing of the General Ledger with Data Center and Finance Department
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly and audited financial statements
  • Interacts with various departments to answer questions and obtain information necessary for monthly General Ledger closings
  • Review journal entries and account analyses for accuracy and compliance with established accounting policies and procedures
  • Consults with Payroll, Human Resources, Purchasing and other department to solve accounting related problems
  • Interacts with departments regarding Budget Comparison Reports questions
  • Prepares Malpractice related account analyses
  • Reviews year-end Hospital Audit Schedules
  • Coordinates and prepares schedules for Hospital Employees’ Pension Plan Audit and assist in the filing of related 5500 IRS Form
  • Assist in the preparation of Hospital 990 IRS Form
  • Oversees the filing of quarterly/annual federal and state withholding tax forms
  • Acts independently to address and resolve problems and issues that arise in areas under his/her responsibility
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Experience: 5 years related experience. PC experience. Supervisory experience required. Big 4 experience a plus. CPA a plus

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115494 - $173241 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
