About the Role
The AI / ML Engineer is responsible for building intelligent applications and workflows that convert Sunwest Bank's data into automation and actionable insights. This role focuses on developing AI-driven solutions using financial, customer, and CRM data stored in OneLake to streamline sales and operational processes. The position collaborates with technical and business teams to design, implement, and deploy AI solutions that support document processing, predictive analytics, and internal AI-assisted workflows.

What You'll Do
• Develop AI-powered applications and workflows that automate tasks and generate insights from Bank data
• Use financial, customer, and CRM data (including Salesforce) stored in OneLake to support automation initiatives
• Lead AI projects such as intelligent document processing, predictive analytics, and internal AI assistants
• Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to identify and define AI use cases
• Design, train, and implement machine-learning models or AI services aligned with business needs
• Support deployment of AI solutions into production workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability
What We're Looking For
(Required)
• Strong Python programming skills or similar languages
• Experience with machine-learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Ability to work with structured data (SQL, data frames) and unstructured data (text, images)
• Understanding of machine-learning techniques including regression, classification, clustering, and NLP
• Experience building and evaluating models using tabular and text datasets
• Familiarity with data platforms such as OneLake or Azure
• Strong problem-solving ability and experience translating business needs into AI solutions

• Experience within financial services or sales/CRM-based workflows • Experience with Azure AI services such as Azure ML or Cognitive Services
• Experience with MLOps practices and deploying AI models into production
• Advanced education (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
