  • Small seminars capped at 16 students;
  • A two-semester humanities sequence that is interdisciplinary and concerned with foundational texts;
  • Broad engagement with the Augustinian and Catholic intellectual tradition, the heart of ACS 1000: Ancients is Augustine's Confessions and the charge of ACS 1001: Moderns is to explore the modern world giving particular attention to the continuing Augustinian and Catholic intellectual traditions, as reflected in the four key concepts of Catholic Social Thought, human dignity, solidarity, the common good, and subsidiarity.
  • Writing-intensive curriculum that emphasizes the writing process, argument and analysis as well as informal and other, more creative assignments;
  • Integration of classroom studies and lived experience through some common texts, and required co-curricular "Approved for ACS Course Credit" events.

Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a humanities or social science discipline at the time of application.
