Role Summary
The Field Quality and Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving the highest quality and reliability standards for our commercial vehicle platform. This role will achieve this by leveraging and interpreting data derived from the product's use in the field. This role involves developing and implementing quality control systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and utilizing problem-solving methodologies to meet rigorous company and industry standards. The engineer will analyze data, conduct inspections, manage systematic concerns, and collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute changes that increase product quality, production conformity, and overall business productivity.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor field performance metrics, proactively identify and escalate emerging high-impact issues using warranty data for early resolution.
  • Drive timely root cause analysis and resolution by engaging and holding cross-functional teams accountable with data driven approach to ensure root cause is identified and resolved
  • Problem solving by using techniques like 8D, 3-Way 5-Whys
  • Creating detailed documentation for review with customers
  • Support business cases and present information to leadership for customer satisfaction campaigns and Field Service Actions (FSA) decisions.
  • Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into relevant processes
  • Develop and track data-driven metrics for issue monitoring and corrective action effectiveness.
  • Create innovative tools and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Support issue triage and resolution for warranty claims driving improvements on our field performance metrics

Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and with a high workload.
  • Basic SQL/Python coding experience
  • Understanding of Fundamentals of Reliability (Weibulls, Nevada Charts)
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills using 8D, 3-Way 5-Whys or similar method problem solving experience
  • Strong Data analysis skills that includes standard quantitative methods and statistical process controls
  • Proficiency on DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP and 6 Sigma greenbelt or blackbelt desired/good to have
  • 2+ years' experience in a quality manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree in engineering discipline and 2+ years experience

Pay Disclosure
The salary range for this role is $135,100 - $168,900 for California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The salary range for this role is $123,400 - $154,200 for Illinois based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
