We are actively seeking a Process Utilities Engineer Intern to join CRB. How will I contribute?

As a Process Utilities Engineer Intern, youย will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. The focus will be on the design and engineering of critical utility equipment and distribution (or collection) systems along with the supporting facility infrastructure required to support manufacturing operations. Typical tasks include execution of engineering calculations including heat transfer and hydraulic pressure drop calculations.

    • Block & Process Flow Diagrams
    • User Requirements Specifications
    • Equipment List
    • Equipment General Arrangements
    • Equipment Datasheets
    • Utility Summary
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead. Systems Designed include:
    • Purified Water Generation, Storage and Distribution
    • Clean Steam Generation and Distribution
    • Compressed Air and Process Gas Generation and Distribution
    • Biological and Process Waste Collection, Inactivation and Neutralization
    • Clean in Place Systems
    • Bulk Chemical Storage and Distribution
    • ย Bulk Cryogenic Liquid Storage and Distribution
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, BioProcess Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
  • Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)
  • Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
  • Familiarity with Engineering Software Application including computer aided drafting, process modeling and calculations programs
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Mechanical Engineering, Process Utilities Engineering or related field
