Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Founding Process Engineer with 5+ years of experience in III-V semiconductor laser processing to develop and optimize fabrication processes for InP-based Photonic Crystal Surface-Emitting Lasers (PCSELs). This role will focus on process development, yield improvement, and semiconductor manufacturing in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end PCSEL fabrication processes.
  • Develop and optimize photolithography, dry/wet etching, thin-film deposition, and wafer bonding.
  • Improve process yield, repeatability, and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
  • M.S./Ph.D. in EE, Materials Science, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of III-V semiconductor or photonic device fabrication experience.
  • Hands-on experience with photolithography, thin-film deposition, dry/wet etching, wafer bonding, and metrology (AFM/SEM/TEM).
  • Experience with InP, III-V photonics, or semiconductor lasers is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Indium Phosphide (InP) or other III-V semiconductor materials.
  • Knowledge of Photonic Crystal Surface-Emitting Lasers (PCSELs), semiconductor lasers, or optoelectronic devices.
  • Experience with III-V epitaxial structure design, simulation, or semiconductor laser modeling.
  • Familiarity with advanced semiconductor process integration and photonic device manufacturing.
