Position Summary & Objective
The Buyer / Senior Buyer procures raw materials and outsources semi-finished products:
โ€ข Places, expedites and reconciles purchase orders
โ€ข Provides inventory management of raw materials and packaging
โ€ข Works toward continuous improvement of job function related to supply chain
โ€ข Provides recommendations for budgeting
โ€ข Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management
โ€ข Onboards new items and vendors and performs routine maintenance
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
โ€ข Completes the daily routine of MRP actions and associated analysis to ensure materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on-time for production.
โ€ข Proactively adjusts purchase orders and communicate delivery schedule changes as required.
โ€ข Conducts bids as well as negotiates pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to drive a favorable total cost solution
โ€ข Serves as the owner responsible to liaise between vendors, operations, and leadership on any procurement related activities.
โ€ข Develops and regularly publishes procurement related metrics and key performance indicators.
โ€ข Maintains accurate system data for all purchase and planning parameters including lead-times, price, lot sizes, minimums, and multiples
โ€ข Performs appropriate financial analyses and produce recommendations from analysis.
โ€ข Writes professional processes related to supply chain management
Position Qualifications Education:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, or Engineering preferred, will consider other Business majors.
Experience:
โ€ข Minimum of one (1) year of supply chain experience, including purchasing, inventory management, logistics or planning
Certifications/Licenses:
โ€ข APICS CPIM preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities examples of standard KSA's
โ€ข Good communication skills for interacting at all levels and possess sound influencing, negotiating and assertiveness skills. Working Hours and Conditions
