Job Description

Summary: Completes treatment of patient’s oral and periodontal care including patient education within the scheduled time of the appointment. Most appointments are one hour. This is a long-standing practice with generations of patients. As the number one priority, we are here to care for our patients, not be pushy with treatments. The atmosphere is relaxed.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provides oral or written pre-operative and post-operative treatment instructions.
2. Reviews patient charts prior to appointments, updates health histories and documents blood pressure and other information that may affect treatments.
3. Provides periodontal treatments to include scaling, root planning, curettage, periodontal charting and polishing.
4. Provides treatment for adult and children prophy’s which may include but not limited to – exams, radiographs, prophy’s, fluoride, sealants, and subgingival irrigation.
5. Administer local anesthesia as needed.
6. Promotes exceptional dental care by providing periodontal health education through demonstration and appropriate literature regarding patients’ oral health needs and scheduling them for this treatment.
7. Documents services rendered and other related information in patients' charts following each appointment.
8. Charts necessary future dental treatments as recommended by the Doctor during examinations.
9. Responsible for proper upkeep of operatory equipment at all times including but not limited to: - general cleaning - sharpening and sterilizing hand instruments - disinfecting operatories between appointments - cleaning and maintaining equipment related to daily functions (i.e. sterilizer, autoclave).
10. Cleans treatment areas at the end of each day to include flushing the evacuation system and preparing treatment rooms for the following business day. Remains aware of supply/stock levels available in the office, and communicates effectively with co-workers to place orders.
Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Salary Range

Part-time $40 - $50 per hour

Shift & Schedule

The schedule can be flexible, but we would like set days. Perhaps it would be four days a week with approximately 5 hours a day. Or 2 full days along with a half day. We can make a schedule that works best.
Office hours: Monday 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday -Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
