Salary Range: $70,304 - $87,327
DCS Corp. is seeking a Web Application Test Engineer to support the WSSIS V Contract at the F/A-18 & EA-18G IPT. This role supports the quality, reliability, and security of business web applications through comprehensive white-box, grey-box, black-box, unit, and automated testing. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with test-driven development (TDD), modern software testing methodologies, and web application architecture, and can work effectively with developers in a SAFe Agile/DevOps environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Apply modern testing methodologies, including white-box, grey-box, black-box, and unit testing principles.
Support the implementation and adoption of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices in coordination with the development team.
Develop, execute, and maintain automated web application tests and testing frameworks, with emphasis on Playwright.
Translate manual testing scenarios, functional specifications, and user stories into automated test coverage and end-to-end test scripts.
Analyze source code, databases, and application logic to support effective white-box, grey-box, and unit testing.
Set up, configure, and maintain automated and continuous testing environments.
Support training and knowledge sharing on test automation and TDD practices, as needed.
Support Agile best practices, processes, and tools in alignment with DevOps software testing and deployment activities.
Document test cases, test results, defects, and related quality artifacts clearly and accurately.
Job Requirements:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of one year of relevant experience in software testing, software quality assurance, or software development.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
Experience with one or more test automation platforms, such as Playwright, Tosca, UFT, or Selenium.
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing for web-based applications.
Understanding of black-box, white-box, grey-box, and unit testing approaches.
Familiarity with web application architectures, CI/CD tools, and Agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or SAFe.
Strong customer support and stakeholder service skills, with the ability to respond professionally and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have excellent work ethic, time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
Desired Skills:
Experience building, maintaining, or improving continuous testing environments and related test automation infrastructure.
Experience converting manual test cases into automated test suites across multiple toolsets.
Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages commonly used with Playwright and Selenium, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#, or Java.
Experience with test management and application lifecycle management (ALM) tools.
Experience mentoring team members or supporting training on test automation practices.
Work Location / Arrangement: Full-time on-site in China Lake, CA; hybrid and remote work are not available for this role.
