Position Summary

The Warehouse Runner is responsible for assisting in venue distribution/warehouse operations including inventory, receiving, purchasing, ordering, lay-ins, purchase order tracking, clean-up, transfers and equipment maintenance. This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and independent decision-making skills are required.

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00-$15.00

Hilliard Center is professionally managed by Oak View Group and proudly serves as the premier entertainment hub of the Coastal Bend. The venue includes the 10,000-seat Hilliard Center Arena, designed for concerts, sporting events, family shows, and professional and amateur rodeos; Hilliard Convention Center, hosting trade shows, banquets, and community events; and the historic Selena Auditorium, a celebrated performance space. As home to TAMUCC Men's and Women's Basketball, the Corpus Christi IceRays, and the Corpus Christi Tritons, the venue welcomes hundreds of thousands of fans each year. With modern amenities, an elevated club level, and twelve luxury box suites, Hilliard Center offers the perfect setting for unforgettable live experiences - from large-scale productions to intimate gatherings.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting with product receiving and distribution control for the venue. 
  • Receive products and merchandise, checking for quality and damages to items, and the proper storage of the delivered products and merchandise 
  • Perform transfers of products and/or merchandise to and from the warehouse. 
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. 
  • Perform physical inventory as needed. 
  • Process requests for supplies, prepares merchandise for delivery, and prepares packages for shipping according to established procedures. 
  • Maintain sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas. 
  • Fulfills all event expectations including but not limited to requisitioning during events, post-event break down, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation and maintenance.  
  • Oversee and ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each event; rotate and maintain integrity of product.  
  • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of concession and utility equipment, portable equipment, burden carriers, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting. Ensure manifested equipment is in location. 
  • Ensure security of company assets. 
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. 
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. 
  • Possess valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required by local government. 
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements 
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to product inventory. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum 2 years foodservice/hospitality experience; similar venue experience a plus.
