How much do seismic crew jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 30, 2026, the average hourly pay for seismic crew in the United States is $18.54, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.38 and $20.43 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Seismic crew members, especially experienced geophysicists or specialized field technicians, can sometimes earn around $2,000 per day, particularly when working on large-scale projects or in remote locations with high risk and demanding schedules. Such roles often require technical skills, certifications, and the ability to work long hours in challenging environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Seismic Crew position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Seismic Crew member, you need a solid understanding of geophysical concepts, physical stamina, and experience with machinery, typically complemented by a high school diploma or relevant vocational training. Familiarity with seismic survey equipment, GPS systems, and often certifications in safety procedures such as HAZWOPER or First Aid are crucial. Strong teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to work in remote or challenging environments are valuable soft skills. These capabilities ensure field data collection is accurate, operations run smoothly, and safety standards are maintained under sometimes demanding conditions.

What is a Seismic Crew job?

A Seismic Crew is a team responsible for conducting seismic surveys to locate and analyze underground resources like oil, gas, and minerals. They operate specialized equipment to send shockwaves into the ground and record the reflected signals. Crew members may include surveyors, drillers, and equipment operators, all working together to collect accurate geophysical data. The job often involves working in remote locations under varying weather conditions.

What jobs pay 10,000 a month without a degree?

Seismic crew jobs typically do not pay $10,000 a month without specialized skills or experience. High-paying roles in fields like sales, real estate, or entrepreneurship can reach that level without a degree, but they often require significant effort, networking, or certifications. Most jobs paying this amount without a degree involve skilled trades, sales, or business ownership rather than seismic work specifically.

What does a seismic crew do?

A seismic crew conducts geophysical surveys by setting up equipment to measure underground rock formations, often using vibratory sources or explosives. They install and operate sensors, record data, and ensure safety protocols are followed in the field environment.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

Seismic crew jobs typically do not pay $500,000 annually; such high salaries are usually found in executive roles, specialized medical professions, or high-level corporate positions. Some highly experienced professionals in engineering, finance, or technology may reach this level with bonuses and stock options, but seismic crew roles generally have lower compensation levels. Advanced skills, certifications, and leadership responsibilities are often required for top-tier salaries in these fields.

What are the typical working conditions and schedule for Seismic Crew members?

Seismic Crew members often work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, sometimes in remote or rugged terrain depending on the project's location. The job frequently involves long hours or shift work, and it may require travel or extended stays away from home during survey campaigns. Most team members work in close coordination with geophysicists, drillers, and equipment operators to ensure accurate seismic data is collected. Adaptability, safety awareness, and the ability to function well as part of a team are crucial for success in this field environment.
