Job description

The Engineering Manager role oversees all engineering activities and a staff of engineers. These engineering activities include timely launches of new products, qualification of component modifications and/or new suppliers for cost savings, disposition of non-conforming products and any other technical support of the products to successfully source, build and deliver products to our customers.
What You'll Do
  • Manages staff of engineers
  • Leads engineering staff by providing direction and performance reviews
  • Ensures personnel are properly trained and qualified to support the organization requirements
  • Interfaces with Product Management, Testing, Drafting, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Control, Tool Room, and Suppliers to ensure appropriate support is provided for engineering objective
  • Ensures new product development projects are successfully completed on time
  • Ensures product design problems are addressed to ensure good product quality for our customers
  • Makes presentations to R&D Staff, internal personnel, vendor personnel, and external distributor and customer personnel on completed work, project status and/or general overview
  • Travels to trade shows and conferences to represent the company and assist Sales & Marketing and to update knowledge on current advances in design, materials, competitor products, etc.
  • Ensures subordinates comply with the Company's policies and procedures
  • Ensures product compliance with external standards and certifications
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Director of Engineering

What You'll Bring
  • B.S. mechanical engineering or equivalent degree required
  • Project management certificate preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Engineering Manager
  • Experience as an engineer in the pump industry is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and launching new products
  • Familiarity with solid modeling, finite element analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Skilled in all areas of project management including Gantt schedule development and tracking, coordination of all personnel on team, assignment of action steps required, production of meeting minutes, tracking of all costs, managing CapEx, and maintenance of project records
  • Able to interact with and direct people from a wide number of backgrounds and disciplines
  • Master's degree in engineering or business preferred

Work Arrangement: Onsite
Pay Range: $138,000.00 - $152,000.00 annually
This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
