Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will be working in our Tampa office. This engineer with a P.E. will join a multi-disciplinary design team. This role will also include some business development, marketing, and project management duties.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the total electrical systems design for specific projects.
  • Make calculations integral to the electrical systems design.
  • Be familiar with and apply applicable building codes and standards.
  • Deal directly with clients/owners to determine specific project needs.
  • As Project Manager, manage, direct, and supervise project to assure project confirms to the commitments related to time, quality, and communications. Deal directly with client to establish project schedules and expectations.
  • Assist market segment manager and team leader in manpower projections and scheduling of work.
  • Manage, direct and supervise electrical engineering staff in the execution of specific projects to meet schedules and timely completion of projects. Schedule and lead electrical production staff meetings.
  • Supplement Salas O'Brien design standards and administrative procedures where needed.
  • Learn our client base and the services provided
  • Identify new opportunities that may have synergistic benefit with our existing business
  • Provide marketing support for project pursuits
  • Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic
  • Ability to effectively communicate with architects, owners, and contractors
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Design of Commercial and/or Healthcare Building experience is preferred
  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering and 5 or more years of applicable experience in design/engineering of building electrical power systems
  • Florida PE certification required
  • Must have Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of project approach and system design.
  • Willingness to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Experience with healthcare facility design projects a plus
  • Experience using and understanding of REVIT designing platforms
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills essential for team-based projects
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for simultaneous project schedules
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges
