Job description

VCS is looking for Production Technician for one of our client. Earn Gift Cards up to $250 every Month.

Pay - $19.50-20.25/Hr.

Job Location – Rushville, IN 46173

Contract- 4+ Months with the possible extension

Attendance/Performance Appreciation: Up to $250/Month as Gift Cards (Non- Taxable)

Weekly: $45/week if you work at least 40 Hours/week

Monthly: $70/Month if you work at least 152 Hours/Month (In addition to weekly)

Description:

START ASAP - 9/2 preferred
• Suggested Pay Rate – $19.50 + shift differential (see below)
• Any specific skills, requirements or experience you want in a candidate: Reliable transportation, strong attendance, customer service, collaboration, basic math
• Any exposure to common allergens? Dust; Corn Dust
• Any additional Medical Surveillance testing required? No. Does not need a physical.
• Will they be driving? No
• Over the ankle steel toe or composite toe boots
• Screens: Background and Drug must be clear prior to start.
Recruiting Priorities: Candidates should be flexible and available for all shifts. They will be assigned a shift/role after training and as needed.
Suggested Pay Rates per shift
• Shift 1: $19.50
• Shift 2: $20.50 - ($1 differential)
• Shift 3: $20.25 - ($0.75 differential)
Shifts:
• 1st Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM
• 2nd shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM
• 3rd shift: 10:00PM - 6:30AM
Application of Shift Differentials (Per site's clarification):
• 2nd shift timeframe for shift diff is 4:00PM-10:00PM = +$1 (For RUS1)
• 3rd shift timeframe for shift diff is 10:00PM-6:00AM = +$0.75 (For RUS1)
• Regardless of what shift they are scheduled, which will likely fluctuate, if they are working within the shift diff timeframes, they should get it.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The General Operator role has a seasonality effect. The type of work assigned will vary based on the current season. In spring and summer, you will be assigned to teams supporting a variety of responsibilities. You could spend time inspecting and maintaining our seed crops or you could support seed inventory management at the plant. Fall is a busy season with harvesting and seed packaging in full swing. In the winter, you’ll be cleaning & packaging seed, supporting maintenance work, warehousing and shipping seed to ensure our customers have the product they need for the coming planting season.
September-October:
Receive and process trucks hauling crop from the field for weighing and unloading.
• Complete a wide range of harvest activities: ex.: husk and sort operations
• Operate dryer to dry crop within the prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements
• Shelling and storage of crop from bins in the dryer facility
• Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed
• Apply appropriate treatment to seed
November-March
Label, tag, bag and palletize seed
• Enter inventory information into computer
• Stage seed for shipment in warehouse
April -August:
• Retag in-house seed.
• Re-bag backhaul (returned) seed
• Inspect pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean
• Wash pro boxes as necessary
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations
• Ability to safely perform duties in timely fashion while maintaining seed quality
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs
• Ability to make independent decisions
QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Pass a background check and other pre-employment screenings
• Have reliable transportation to the site and be able to arrive at the work site as instructed
• Maintain enthusiasm, good attitude, honesty and a willingness to treat all with respect
• Ability to work long hours and rotational shifts, including over-time as needed;
• Ability to communicate verbally and written
• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds, work in and outdoors, walk on uneven surfaces
