Job description

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

Join our Quality Testing Lab team where you'll evaluate and test plant samples, primarily focusing on seeds like corn, wheat, soy, and sorghum. This entry-level position does not require prior experience, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Count and plant seeds using a counter template, then place them on a wet paper towel and roll them up.
  • Collaborate with another team member to organize seed 'dolls' in racks for growth in dryers or freezers.
  • Rotate between planting and evaluating duties, examining seeds post-growth.
  • Train to identify normal versus abnormal seeds, recording findings on a computer tablet.
  • Maintain high attention to detail while working with six different seed types.
  • Participate in a 7-day seed testing cycle, evaluating and logging seedlings.
  • Opportunity for high performers to engage in physical tasks, including lifting 30 lbs and sorting seed bags.

Essential Skills

  • Quality control and assurance experience.

Join a team of 30-50 colleagues, collaborating in groups or pairs. Ergonomic workstations with adjustable tables and chairs are provided, and lab coats are required attire. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory, ensuring safety and comfort throughout your shift.

Starting pay $19

โ€ข Once trained through evaluation area โ€“ 2-3 wks will raise to $20.50hr

โ€ข Maintain performance metrics for 3 weeks then will have another opportunity for a raise to $21.50hr

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
