Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A Seed Packer/Order Fulfillment team member is a seasonal role that will fill customer orders by picking seeds from shelves, packing and labeling seeds, checking packed seeds against orders for accuracy, and using automated or computer-based technology to keep track of inventory and shipments. You will be responsible for inventory, cycle counting, data entry, and general office duties. You must be able to work in a cold environment (39-56-degree avg. temps). Additionally, you must be flexible in handling changes and interruptions, and be able to return to the task that you were performing.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Measuring, packaging, and labeling seed packets for filling and shipping orders
  • Receiving product and verifying accuracy against purchase orders
  • Managing mail room activities, including sorting, distributing, and dispatching mail and packages
  • Auditing orders and reporting any discrepancies to the Seed Fulfillment Manager
  • Determining product readiness and quality
  • Performing physical counts of inventory, cycle counts, and balancing inventory
  • Using basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with a calculator) and sorting numbers
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of shipping principles and procedures
  • Must possess organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize, follow verbal and written directions, and read orders
  • Attention to detail is critical, and problem-solving skills are a plus
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Must be mobile and comfortable on your feet
  • Must have transportation and be able to work early or late as required
  • Flexible work schedule during peak season from October to March

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Climate-controlled environment with cold temperatures and minimal humidity
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking
