Description

SUMMARY: An Energy Driver safely transports and delivers propane and liquid fuels to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers while operating and maintaining delivery equipment in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. 

Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely load, transport, and deliver propane, bulk oils and/or liquid fuels to customer locations.
  • Operate bobtail or tanker delivery trucks in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Attach hoses, ground tanks, fill fuel vessels properly, and follow strict safety protocols to prevent spills or overfills.
  • Handle pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings for loading/unloading propane or fuel.
  • Inspect propane systems, monitor pressure gauges, valves, and tank levels, and perform leak tests when required.
  • Inspect vehicle and document on daily driver's report.  
  • Perform regular maintenance of equipment (i.e., grease equipment, minor repairs, and wash equipment) and accurately document work done in maintenance log.
  • Accurately complete delivery tickets, logs, meter readings, inspection forms, and receipts.
  • Keep assigned vehicles, equipment and work areas clean.
  • Adhere to all company and government policies and laws concerning transportation and handling of all products hazardous and non-hazardous.
  • Assist in repairs of facilities and equipment.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting customers, maintaining outstanding standards, and solid product knowledge
  • Project a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster enhanced public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and associates.
  • Adhere to all company and government safety policies and laws (i.e., viewing safety films, understanding right to know laws, fire, and explosion precautions, lock out - tag out, etc.)
  • Have flexibility for required overtime hours above the normal eight hour day during all busy times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the Grain and Agronomy Divisions in their busy times, conducting assigned maintenance, loading, delivering, and unloading products as well as various duties and will report to either Branch Manager while assisting in during these times.
  • Assist with tank installation, removal, and on-site propane system maintenance when required.
  • Deliver seed, crop protection and crop nutrient products to the farm with Semi, Strait Truck or Pickup Truck.
  • Other jobs as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to work long varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Must currently hold or must obtain a Class A CDL with medical card and Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date.
