Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an organized Logistics Coordinator to manage the daily operations of our company's supply chain, ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective movement of our products (bulk, mini-bulk, and packaged) from origin to destination. The Logistics Coordinator acts as the central point of contact between suppliers, carriers, warehouse teams, and customers.

Core Responsibilities
  • Seasonal Shipping Coordination: Schedule daily inbound and outbound shipments with carriers. Manage tight spring and fall shipping windows to deliver high volume seed supplies before planting season begins.

  • Agricultural Compliance: Prepare and verify any necessary certificates, seed analysis, and seed tags.

  • Inventory & Lot Tracking: Coordinate with warehouse teams to track seed lots, analysis dates, and treatment variations. Track warehouse stock levels and reconcile any shipment discrepancies with operations team.

  • Route & Load Optimization: Plan optimal transportation routes to reduce transit times and shipping costs. Plan multi-stop delivery routes to maximize trailer space.

  • Documentation Management: Prepare and verify critical paperwork like bills of lading, customs forms, and packing lists.

Position Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, or Agronomy is highly preferred.

  • Industry Experience: 2+ years in logistics preferred, with specific experience handling agricultural commodities, seeds, or perishable goods.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with logistics and inventory software, spreadsheets, and email.

  • Key Skills: Exceptional time-management skills to handle high-stress seasonal spikes and sudden weather-related and/or mechanical-related route disruptions.

Physical Requirements
  • Manual Lifting: Ability to regularly and independently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds (such as standard seed bags, boxes, and jugs).

  • Team Lifting: Ability to assist in team lifts for bulk items exceeding 50 pounds.

  • Physical Stamina: Capability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and crouch for extended periods on a concrete warehouse floor.

  • Equipment Operation: Ability to be certified to operate specialized warehouse equipment, including: Forklifts, Electric and manual pallet jacks, Hand trucks

  • Environmental Tolerance: Comfort working in a warehouse environment as well as an office.
