Purpose:
TheSecurity Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security ofresidents, staff, visitors, and property within the senior living community.This role involves monitoring community access, patrolling grounds andbuildings, responding to emergencies, and assisting residents and staff inmaintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Essential Job Functions :
• Provides a highly visible status to residentsand potential intruders to foster a sense of safety. Operates wirelesscommunications equipment between Security Guard and office.
• Observes video monitors. Patrolshallways, building and parking lot to ensure it is well lit and residentvehicles are locked. Determines that no unauthorized vehicles are present.
• Ensures that all doors are secured and lockedin the evening.
• Responds personally to location to satisfyneeds of the residents and personnel.
• Adheres to established safety procedures. Maintains a current list of emergency numbers.
• Keeps record of residents entering and leavingpremises after front doors are locked.
• Answers in-coming phone lines when office isclosed.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident andcommunity information.
In the event ofemergency, assists local emergency personnel within the facility as needed
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
• Knowledge of legal requirements for securityguard position required.
• Make independent and good judgment decisionswithin proper policy and procedures.
• Previous security experience desired. Knowledgeof legal requirements for security guard position required.
• Ability to react calmly and confidently underpressure and in unexpected situations.
