Part-Time / Flex Security Officer

Part-time/Flex Security Officer

Location: Loves Park / Rockford, IL

Primary scheduled: Friday/Saturday 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM and Tuesday 3:00 PM-11:00 PM

Schedule: Part-time/Flex (On-Call) Must be willing and able to cover any shift, including weekends, nights, and holidays

*Must be willing to work additional days/shifts when officers call off, are on leave, or on vacation.

Rate: Regular hours-$18.54/ Flex hours-$20.00

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly dependable and professional Part-time/Flex Security Officer to support security operations at a manufacturing facility located in Loves Park, IL. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and can adapt quickly to the changing needs of the site.

Flex Officers play a crucial role in maintaining consistent security coverage by filling in for open shifts, call-offs, special assignments, or staffing shortages. Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to respond quickly to scheduling requests are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ID and access control for employees, contractors, and visitors entering the facility
  • Conduct thorough interior and exterior patrols, ensuring safety and policy compliance throughout the site
  • Remain alert and observant at all times, promptly reporting unusual activity or potential hazards
  • Complete accurate and detailed DARs (Daily Activity Reports), incident reports, and any required documentation
  • Respond professionally and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or security concerns
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and communication with site staff and management
  • Follow all company and client standard operating procedures (SOPs)Serve as an on-call resource capable of covering various shifts, including short-notice assignments
  • Friday/Saturday/Tuesday shifts will primarily consist of desk dutiesOther assignments may include roving (indoor and outdoor patrols), desk duties, and guard shack duties
  • Requirements
  • Valid Illinois PERC Guard Card
  • 20-hour Unarmed Security Training Certificate
  • Background check and drug testing clearance
  • Prior security experience required; flex or roving officer experience strongly preferred
  • Must have open and flexible availability — able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Professional appearance, strong communication, and reliable work ethic
  • Ability to walk, stand, and conduct patrols in a manufacturing facility environment
  • Must be dependable and responsive when contacted for shift coverage
