Job Description

The Senior Systems Engineer will lead the design, development, integration, and validation of complex systems spanning hardware, embedded software, and networking. This role requires strong technical breadth, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and the ability to guide cross‑functional engineering teams through architecture, implementation, and verification. The ideal candidate is highly hands‑on, fluent in Linux development environments, experienced with electronics and embedded interfaces, and comfortable mentoring engineers while driving high standards for code quality and documentation.

  • Experience producing high‑quality technical documentation, engineering reports, and peer‑reviewed technical papers
  • Ownership‑driven mindset with a strong commitment to quality, documentation, and engineering rigor
  • Collaboration with hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, and IT teams
  • Contribution to DevOps concepts, toolchains, and full‑stack system architectures
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering with 10+ years of experience
Additional Requirements
  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)
  • Full‑time, exempt position
  • Office and laboratory environment with occasional field or test‑site work
  • Limited travel for testing, vendor engagement, or program support
  • Experience leading engineering teams through full lifecycle development from requirements to verification
  • Knowledge of cryptographic modules, secure communications, and system security considerations
  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and embedded/web system interactions
  • Experience with ruggedized, mission‑critical, or environmentally tested systems
  • Exposure to safety‑critical or compliance standards such as DO‑178, DO‑254, ISO 26262, or IEC 61508
  • Experience with marine underwater vehicles a preferred
Salary Range

Salary Range: $113,600.00-$151,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
