Job Summary:

As a senior technician, the Lead Security Systems Technician is responsible for independent field operations, technical oversight, and project leadership. This role demands advanced technical expertise, as well as organizational and leadership skills to manage project sites, ensure quality, and oversee field teams. The Lead Security Systems Technician is the key technical liaison between Active Security's project teams and clients.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • System Installation & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain complex security system components and infrastructure with minimal supervision, ensuring that systems function according to design specifications.
  • Project Leadership: Manage site safety, quality, and schedule adherence, ensuring all activities comply with design specifications and authority requirements.
  • Team Oversight & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor teams of up to five junior and intermediate technicians, ensuring training, task completion, and alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Technical Leadership: Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics, including advanced programming and system integration tasks, independently and collaboratively resolving complex issues on-site. 
  • Customer & Project Coordination: Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients and communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Complete required job documentation and ensure compliance with industry and internal standards such as ISO-9001, CMMI II, and DCAA.


Qualifications:

  • Education & Skills: Graduate; ability to work in a team environment; completion of at least four industry certifications in electronic security and systems integration. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in electronic security, including systems integration, administration, and advanced troubleshooting, with a focus on compliance and adherence to government and independent standards.
  • Professional Development: Strong commitment to ongoing education in compliance, industry advancements, complex programming, and project management practices.
  • Travel Ability: Ability to travel to projects and stay overnight for varying lengths of time.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • The role demands a high level of professionalism, adaptability, and organizational skills. Technicians must handle prolonged tasks, ability to handle up to 50 pounds, ability to work at heights, and work in diverse environments. This role may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and requires adherence to safety protocols. The position requires maintaining company-issued tools, vehicles, and equipment.

  • Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented, capable of diagnosing and solving problems.
  • Screening Requirements: Candidates must pass a background check, have a valid driver's license, and be eligible for U.S. Government Security Clearance.
