Job description

Rocky Mountain Protective Service Inc. is seeking a professional and experienced Armed Security Shift Supervisor to oversee daily security operations and provide leadership to assigned security officers in a high-security, public-facing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, security experience, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain professional security operations while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and provide daily direction to armed security officers.

  • Ensure all assigned security posts remain properly staffed and covered.

  • Conduct shift briefings and routine post inspections.

  • Monitor officer attendance, punctuality, uniforms, equipment, and performance.

  • Support access control, security screening, patrol, and incident-response activities.

  • Ensure officers follow established security procedures and post requirements.

  • Respond to incidents and support verbal de-escalation when necessary.

  • Maintain professional and courteous interaction with employees, visitors, and the public.

  • Review daily activity and incident reports for accuracy and completeness.

  • Report significant incidents through the appropriate chain of command.

  • Assist with call-offs, replacement staffing, and maintaining continuous coverage.

  • Monitor required training and qualification compliance.

  • Perform security duties when necessary to support operational coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Previous professional security experience required.

  • Supervisory, lead officer, or team-lead experience preferred.

  • Armed security, government, courthouse, corrections, military, law-enforcement, or similar high-security experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, customer-service, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to prepare and review accurate security reports.

  • Must successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and security-clearance requirements.

  • Must meet all applicable armed-security qualification requirements.

Required Training/Certifications: Candidates must complete or maintain required firearms qualification, Use of Force, verbal de-escalation, Stop the Bleed, First Aid/CPR, background/CJIS, and assignment-specific training.
