Job description

Summary
The QA Manager is a multifaceted role responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes and change management practices within the IT department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of IT systems and applications through rigorous testing, evaluation, and controlled change implementation.
This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and promote the spiritual, personal, and professional development of all team members being led.
  • Quality Assurance Management
    • Develop and implement QA strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of IT systems, application, and services.
    • Establish QA standards, methodologies, and best practices to guide testing activities across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Define test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
    • Manage the activities of performance, stress and regression testing, as well as penetration testing for website applications.
  • Testing and Evaluation
    • Coordinate and oversee testing efforts, including manual and automated testing activities, to validate system functionality, performance, and security.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of software requirements, designs, and code to identify defects, discrepancies, and potential risks.
    • Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve defects and ensure that software releases meet quality standards and user requirements.
  • Change Management
    • Ensure user testing is completed and signed off before progression from development to production.
    • Establish processes for large and small changes, where small changes are accommodated and conducted though pre-approved processes.
    • Conduct readiness review through committee participation that includes technicians and end users.
    • Develop and implement change management processes and controls to govern the introduction of changes into IT environments while minimizing disruption and risk.
    • Review and assess proposed changes, evaluating their impact on IT systems, infrastructure, and operations.
    • Coordinate change approval, scheduling, and communication activities to ensure that changes are implemented efficiently and effectively.
  • Compliance and Auditing
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to quality assurance and change management (e.g., ISO 9001, ITIL, GDPR).
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the QA and change management functions.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address root causes of quality issues and change-related incidents.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the IT organization.

Requirements
  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, ITIL) are a plus.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in quality assurance, change management, or a related field within IT.
  • Experience with testing tools and technologies (e.g., Selenium, JMeter) and change management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and frameworks, particularly in the areas of change management and release management.
