What is the Opportunity?

As the Senior Project Manager, Regulatory Remediationyou are responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing a data protection regulatory program to ensure enterprise-wide compliance objectives are accomplished within approved timeframes, scope, and budget. You will be the accountable program leader, liaising with RBC business and technology partners, regulatory bodies, and external third-party vendors to deliver critical security controls and compliance outcomes.

What will you do?

  • Lead large-scale regulatory program in data protection and compliance, managing end-to-end execution including business case development, governance structure, risk/issue management, and financial oversight

  • Drive regulatory mandate and compliance by coordinating with regulators, documenting control requirements, and building audit trails to prove compliance along the way

  • Establish program governance and project management discipline aligned with RBC standards, with focus on meeting milestones and key regulatory deliverables across project timelines

  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships with regulatory bodies, business sponsors, and technology owners; demonstrate accountability through regular control testing, evidence documentation, and transparent communication

  • Integrate technical and cyber security expertise into program planning-partner with security architects and technical teams to understand control implementation, validate technical solutions, and ensure cyber security requirements are embedded in delivery

  • Lead financial reviews, schedule forecasting, and cost management across the program lifecycle

  • Manage cross-enterprise coordination including multiple interfaces, third-party vendors, and complex technical workstreams in both database and data security domains

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5+ years managing complex projects, with strong security/ risk understanding

  • Hands-on experience in Data Security and Data Protection programs, including compliance uplift and resilience initiatives

  • Proven track record working with regulators-experience building audit evidence, managing regulatory requests, and maintaining compliance relationships

  • Strong cyber security acumen-deep enough understanding to translate technical security requirements into program scope, validate control effectiveness, and communicate with security teams (you won't code or build solutions, but you must understand the technical landscape)

  • Expertise in control testing and audit frameworks-ability to design control validation strategies, coordinate testing activities, and document findings for regulatory submission

  • Experience managing highly technical, cross-enterprise programs with complex stakeholder ecosystems

  • Waterfall and Agile methodology experience-flexibility to work across both delivery models

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills at all organizational levels

  • Financial Services or Cyber Security industry experience (or equivalent regulated environment)

  • Deadline-focused and quality-driven; ability to manage simultaneous workstreams with consistently high standards


Nice-to-have:

  • Agile and other PM certifications (PMP, PgMP, Prince 2, Scrum, SAFe, ITIL)

  • Prior experience with database management or data governance programs

  • Regulatory compliance certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
