Job description

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Networking Program Manager to drive the planning, deployment, and operation of datacenter and lab network infrastructure supporting AMD's Instinct™ GPU programs. In this role, you will manage global network deployments end-to-end—from coordinating cabling contractors and validating optics compatibility to collaborating with IT organizations and ensuring networks are operational and performant for accelerated computing workloads.

You will operate at the intersection of Network Engineering, IT Operations, and Lab Infrastructure, ensuring network readiness and availability across AMD's global datacenter and lab footprint. Your work will directly support AMD's Instinct product roadmap by ensuring the underlying network fabric meets the performance, reliability, and scalability demands of GPU-scale workloads. This role provides meaningful visibility and impact, requiring engagement with senior engineering leaders and VP-level stakeholders while driving execution across geographically distributed teams.

THE PERSON:

You bring a networking-first mindset and thrive in environments where optics, cabling, switching, and GPU infrastructure intersect. You have a track record coordinating network deployments across labs and datacenters, and you carry a conceptual understanding of GPU networking requirements—high-bandwidth fabrics, RDMA traffic patterns, and collective communications—sufficient to drive informed decisions and advocate for the right network architecture. You communicate effectively across technical networking teams, IT, contractors, and senior leadership, driving alignment and execution across global teams.

You are proactive, structured, and execution-focused, with the ability to translate deployment plans into clear milestones, measurable progress, and successful outcomes. You are comfortable managing vendor relationships, navigating cross-functional dependencies, and providing clear status to VP-level stakeholders on network readiness and operational health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive global network deployment planning and execution for AMD labs and datacenters supporting Instinct GPU programs
    • Track and manage structured cabling contractors—delivery milestones, quality standards, and site readiness across global locations
    • Ensure optics compatibility between AMD Instinct products and deployed network infrastructure, coordinating validation with engineering teams
    • Collaborate with IT organizations to integrate lab and datacenter networks into broader enterprise infrastructure and operations
    • Own network deployment readiness tracking—progress, risks, dependencies, and operational health across multiple sites
    • Establish and maintain network operational standards, monitoring practices, and lifecycle management processes to support global infrastructure growth
    • Coordinate with Network Security and InfoSec teams to ensure firewall policies, access controls, and compliance requirements are met across deployments
    • Provide clear, structured reporting on network deployment status, health, and roadmap alignment to senior engineering leaders and VP-level stakeholders

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience managing network deployment programs in datacenter or lab environments at scale
    • Background coordinating structured cabling projects, including vendor and contractor management and site delivery tracking
    • Familiarity with datacenter networking concepts—spine-leaf architectures, high-bandwidth fabrics, and optics and transceiver technologies
    • Experience collaborating with IT, network engineering, and infrastructure operations teams in large organizations
    • Understanding of GPU or HPC networking requirements and how network performance impacts accelerated compute workloads
    • Experience with network security, firewall management, or InfoSec engagement in datacenter environments
    • Strong ability to develop deployment schedules, status reporting, and risk and dependency tracking using project management tools such as Jira
    • Experience supporting global, multi-site infrastructure programs with geographically distributed teams

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field preferred

Location could be in: Austin, TX, Santa Clara, Seattle, WA, or Markham, Canada

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
