Job description

Job Description The Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) is hiring Program Specialist for the Client Security Commission. This position will be located in the OPR office within the Iowa Judicial Branch building in Des Moines, IA. The Client Security Commission protects the public through performance of three functions: auditing the client trust accounts of Iowa lawyers, assisting with lawyer succession planning and coordinating trusteeships, and managing the claims process related to misappropriation of client funds.

The Program Specialist will be working with commission staff on projects related to the above areas. The pay range for this position is $23.73 - $37.52 per hour, plus State of Iowa benefits. The starting salary for new employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range

Adjustments may be made if the successful candidate has relevant experience. This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt, 40 hours per week position. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Assisting attorneys and their staff with submission of audit materials; materials review; reminders and follow-up requests for information. Providing administrative support for various Client Security programs, e.g. answering phones and responding to emails, preparation of letters and notices, ensuring audit staff has necessary resources, digitizing files, data entry and recordkeeping, project and goal tracking, monitoring deadlines, meeting-preparation tasks

Serving as a resource and contact person for attorneys and law office staff, the Commission's audit staff, judges, and the public. Organizing and maintaining files and records of a confidential, complex, or otherwise sensitive nature. Assisting with entity-wide regulatory and educational functions for attorneys.

Other duties as assigned and required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High-level proficiency with standard office software, including word-processing and presentation software, PDR generation programs, videoconferencing, ShareFile, and Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in bookkeeping or accounting; familiarity with project-based management software and/or tracking, willingness to learn and work with new technologies.

Ability to simultaneously handle multiple areas of responsibility with minimum supervision; properly prioritizing tasks and duties as dictated by changing demands. Ability to meet specific deadlines on project-based assignments. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a professional, clear and succinct fashion.

Punctuality, accuracy, and attention to detail. A valid Iowa driver's license and reliable transportation. Experience with trust account management, auditing, collections or compliance are not required but are a plus.
