Senior Program Manager
Department: Project Management Location: 320 Congress Street, Floor 1 Boston, MA 02210
Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide human-machine interface command/control, and additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex, high visibility Projects supporting defense customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the cost, schedule, technical performance, and execution of assigned Projects from the inception through completion. This role is critical to achieving organizational goals related to orders, revenue, operating income and cash flow. Key Responsibilities: • Manage small-medium, software-centric programs across all phases-proposal, development, production, and sustainment, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule and performance objectives. • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders. • Direct cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, administrative, etc.) to meet project objectives. • Participate in proposal development, including work statements, specifications, and budgets. • Monitor project execution and resolve issues by conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions. • Develop and manage project financials, schedules, risk assessments, and change control processes. • Conduct executive-level briefings and communicate project status and issues to senior leadership. • Participate in contract negotiations, modifications, and customer reviews. • Drive continuous improvement and leverage data-driven decision-making to enhance project performance. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree • Minimum 5 years of experience on software-centric technical programs in support of DoD customers. • Demonstrated success executing projects over $10M in value with disciplined scope, cost, and schedule management. • Knowledge of multiple contract types, including Time & Material, Fixed Price and Cost Plus. • Strong experience managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders across multiple cultures. • Proven ability to influence and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels. • Active DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree • 7+ year of working as a Program Manager at a major defense contractor or as a Government Acquisitions Program Manager • PMP certification (or DAU equivalent) • Experience with full DoD program lifecycle – Acquisition, Development, Integration, Test, Deployment, and Sustainment (Training and Logistics). • Experience with international military customers. • Experience with earned value management. • Strong executive presence with experience briefing corporate and customer senior leadership. • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Travel: This position will involve travel to customers and non-customer sites principally in North America (20-30%) but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Role is hybrid, but strongly preference for domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile on a case-by-case basis.
US Citizenship required
Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to obtain and maintain one if desired.
Salary Range: $150,000-$205,000
