About the Position

Cologix is seeking a Data Center Security Lead to oversee day-to-day physical security operations at the site level. This role is responsible for supervising security personnel, executing access control procedures, and ensuring consistent enforcement of security standards in a mission-critical, multi-tenant environment.

The Security Lead serves as the on-site supervisor and primary point of accountability for security operations, including staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper incident response, and audit-ready practices, while coordinating with Operations and Infrastructure teams to maintain a secure and controlled environment.

What You Do

Security Operations, Staffing & Access Control

  • Oversee daily security operations and supervise security officers
  • Own scheduling and staffing coverage to ensure consistent security presence across all shifts
  • Enforce access control procedures including badging, visitor access, and escorts
  • Manage access lifecycle including badge issuance, changes, and revocation
  • Ensure accurate and complete access logs and documentation
  • Maintain consistent application of site procedures and post orders

Incident Response & Coordination

  • Respond to and manage on-site security incidents
  • Ensure proper escalation, containment, and documentation
  • Support incident investigations and follow-up actions
  • Coordinate with Operations during site-impacting events
  • Escalate issues and risks to the Security Manager

Audit Support & Site Standards

  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and access records
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
  • Ensure professionalism, cleanliness, and organization in security-controlled areas
  • Participate in site emergency response activities and drills

Customer & Site Leadership

  • Serve as the on-site leader for the security team
  • Support customer access and ensure a professional, controlled site experience
  • Participate in tours and site visits as needed
  • Lead by example and maintain accountability across security staff

Systems Awareness & Coordination

  • Monitor and report issues with access control, CCTV, and alarm systems
  • Coordinate with Operations and Infrastructure to support secure site activity

What Makes You a Good Fit

  • 3+ years of experience in physical security or related field
  • Experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred
