Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Security Engineer I to join our team!
Under guidance from the Manager of Security and Compliance, this position is responsible for maintaining the security of the company's data, systems, and network. This position will monitor events generated from various information security technologies, investigate and analyze those events, and take corrective action or escalate events as necessary. The Information Security Engineer I will support a suite of security operations technologies by performing configuration changes, system upgrades, and evaluating new technologies to implement. This position will gather the latest vulnerability and threat intelligence from outside sources such as government agencies and other information sharing organizations.

Minimum Salary: $76,700 (Grade 9)
Responsibilities
  • Investigate and triage security events from various security operations technologies and executive incident response procedures as necessary.
  • Support and configuration of security operations technologies such as vulnerability lifecycle management, end point protection, DLP, web security, and e-mail security.
  • Maintain an understanding of the current vulnerabilities and emerging threats and evaluate applicability to current environment.
  • Provide technical security consulting to internal customers and business partners.
  • Research, develop, and implement new security solutions.
  • Provide assistance and security expertise to other areas within the IT group.
  • Support and consult with auditors during audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical area from a four-year College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience or training in Information Security.
  • Ability to work with confidential information, use discretion and best judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, triage and remediate security incidents.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Network Layers, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of security fundamentals (IDS/IPS, brute-force attack, privilege escalation, lateral movement, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Detailed, organized, and thorough with work product.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Security+, CISSP, or similar security-related certification desirable.
  • Linux and Windows administration experience desirable.
