Security Operations Manager Jobs in Tulsa, OK (NOW HIRING)

The Manager of Security Operations provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative management of Family & Children's Services' security program across multiple facilities, including Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Norman, and surrounding counties/service areas. This position provides regional security leadership, directly supervises assigned security personnel and security leaders, and provides indirect oversight and operational support to site-based security teams in other counties. 

The Manager of Security Operations leads all aspects of security operations, including staffing, training, performance management, security technology, incident response, investigations, and regulatory compliance. As a member of the FCS Safety Team and Incident Response Team, this position plays a key role in organizational preparedness, crisis management, business continuity, workplace violence prevention, and regional safety initiatives. 

Security personnel at FCS are viewed as an extension of client care teams. The Manager of Security Operations fosters a culture that balances hospitality, customer service, and therapeutic engagement with effective security practices, utilizing traditional security skills and interventions only when necessary. The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, executive presence, high emotional intelligence, resilience, and the ability to lead effectively through continual organizational change. 

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:    

Strategic Leadership & Program Management 

• Provide strategic direction and long-term planning for the FCS Security Program across all assigned locations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standardized security policies, procedures, service standards, and training programs to ensure consistency across all FCS facilities. 
• Serve as the organization's senior operational leader and subject matter expert for physical security, workplace violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and security operations. 
• Provide leadership, direction, and operational support to security supervisors and security teams across multiple facilities in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Norman, and surrounding service areas. 
• Conduct regular site visits, security assessments, operational reviews, and vulnerability analyses to evaluate effectiveness, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. 
• Develop and monitor security-related key performance indicators (KPIs), incident trends, compliance indicators, staffing effectiveness, and vulnerability assessments to support continuous improvement and risk reduction. 
• Identify opportunities to improve security operations through innovation, technology enhancements, process improvement, and standardized security practices. 

 Staffing, Supervision & Contract Management 

• Direct the recruitment, selection, onboarding, scheduling, supervision, coaching, and performance management of internal security personnel and contracted security officers. 
• Mentor, coach, and develop security supervisors and emerging leaders to support performance management, succession planning, employee retention, and professional development. 
• Conduct regular staffing analyses and develop staffing plans that align security resources with organizational needs. 
• Review staffing models, scheduling practices, and deployment strategies to ensure adequate coverage and efficient utilization of security resources across all locations. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for contract security vendors; monitor performance, compliance, and service delivery. 
• Provide operational guidance and leadership support to site-based security leaders regarding employee relations, coaching, corrective action, workforce planning, and operational expectations. 

 Training & Staff Development 

• Ensure all security personnel maintain current certification and competency in Therapeutic Options, SafeClinch®, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, emergency response, and workplace violence prevention. 
• Develop and oversee an ongoing training program that reinforces FCS's client-centered, hospitality-focused security culture. 
• Develop leadership training, security awareness programs, emergency response exercises, and succession planning initiatives for security personnel across all locations. 
• Coach and mentor security staff to achieve high performance, professional growth, and alignment with FCS values. 
• Promote a customer service and hospitality-focused security culture that supports the organization's mission of client care and recovery. 

Safety, Incident Response & Emergency Preparedness 

• Lead security response efforts during emergencies, critical incidents, disasters, behavioral health emergencies, severe weather events, public disturbances, and organizational crises. 
• Coordinate regional emergency management activities, including incident command, disaster response, evacuation planning, crisis intervention support, and business continuity efforts. 
• Serve as an active member of the FCS Safety Team and Incident Response Team and assist in developing and maintaining emergency preparedness and business continuity plans. 
• Lead investigations involving workplace violence concerns, threats, theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, policy violations, and other security-related incidents occurring throughout the organization. 
• Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents and provide written reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions. 
• Monitor security officer performance through regular audits, observations, coaching, quality assurance reviews, and follow-up on identified improvement opportunities. 

 Organizational Partnership 

• Partner with Human Resources, Clinical Operations, Facilities, and Information Technology to support organizational objectives, risk mitigation initiatives, security technology needs, and workplace safety priorities. 
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local law enforcement, emergency management agencies, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders across multiple counties. 
• Participate in organizational planning and contribute to a culture of safety, respect, hospitality, and exceptional client care. 
• Lead regional security meetings and communicate organizational priorities, security initiatives, and operational expectations across all assigned locations. 
• Serve as the primary security liaison to leadership teams at Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Norman, and other assigned service areas. 

 Supervisory Responsibilities 

• Directly supervises assigned security leadership staff, internal security personnel, and designated security team members. 
• Provides indirect leadership and operational oversight to security supervisors, leads, and officers located across multiple facilities and service regions. 
• Establishes performance expectations, develops leadership competencies, and promotes accountability throughout the security program. 
• Assists with recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, corrective action, and leadership development activities. 
• Serves as the primary point of contact for security operations, critical incident management, and escalation of security concerns throughout the organization. 
• Fosters a culture of professionalism, safety, customer service, continuous improvement, and mission-aligned security practices. 

QUALIFICATIONS

education:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field is required
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Criminal Justice, Security Management, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience in security management, with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, practices, technologies, and regulations.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

• Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. Proof of automobile insurance required.
• Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use agency automobile to travel to locations other than primary office and/or for the transportation of clients.
• CLEET Phase 1 and 2 Certification Required.

OTHER INFORMATION

SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION:
