Responsibilities: The SOC Analyst supports security monitoring, event triage, alert investigation, case management, incident intake, and first-line response for the client cybersecurity environment. This role helps maintain situational awareness and supports timely detection, escalation, and documentation of cybersecurity events.
โ€ข Monitor security tools, dashboards, logs, alerts, and event queues for potential incidents.
โ€ข Conduct initial triage and classification of alerts, suspicious activity, and reported events.
โ€ข Create, manage, and update incident cases in approved Government ticketing systems.
โ€ข Escalate events requiring Tier 2-3 investigation, forensic support, policy guidance, or stakeholder action.
โ€ข Support collection of relevant logs, screenshots, alerts, indicators, and case notes.
โ€ข Identify trends in alerts, recurring event types, and operational gaps.
โ€ข Follow approved SOPs for incident detection, triage, reporting, and escalation. Requirements: โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข Experience in SOC operations, help desk security support, incident triage, monitoring, or cyber operations.
โ€ข Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint alerts, cloud alerts, ticketing tools, and case management processes.
โ€ข Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records, and escalate time-sensitive security matters.
โ€ข Strong communication and documentation skills. โ€ข Must be a U.S. citizen.
โ€ข Successful drug screening.
โ€ข Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge. Preferred Qualifications: โ€ข Security+, CySA+, Network+, Microsoft/Azure security, Splunk, Elastic, or equivalent SOC tool certification. Location/Work Arrangement:
โ€ข Schedule is full-time, Monday โ€“ Friday 40-hour week, 4/10โ€™s, or 9/80โ€™s and may require on call or overnight shifts depending on contract needs.
