In the Security Operations Center (SOC), our team directly supports "Solving for safer" by analyzing threats, investigating security events, and helping to secure mission-critical environments around the clock.
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented SOC Analyst I to join our global security operations center. In this role, you will analyze threats, oversee security alerts, and execute real-time incident investigations under the guidance of senior team members. You will partner across teams to author comprehensive case documentation, outline remediation strategies, and optimize security playbooks to protect critical environments. Candidates may bring a formal degree or equivalent practical experience in security operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident Analysis & Threat Mitigation
  • Analyze and process security alerts from enterprise tools to identify potential malicious activity
  • Author clear case documentation detailing threat scope, risk impact, and recommended remediation
  • Partner with senior analysts to conduct thorough security investigations and gather operational response data

Security Operations & Optimization
  • Observe security event feeds across endpoints, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
  • Provide operational insights to help refine detection playbooks, alert tuning, and orchestration
  • Cross-train to deliver onsite security monitoring supporting specialized managed detection and response services

Job Requirements:
Technical Expertise
  • Security Concepts to evaluate networking fundamentals, process analysis, and risk management principles
  • SIEM Tools to analyze log sources and process alerts across firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms
  • Command Line Proficiency to navigate Windows and Linux environments for incident triage
  • Script Analysis to read and interpret basic scripts in order to identify malicious code patterns
  • Communications to deliver clear technical information in both written and verbal forms
  • Shift Availability to support operational requirements as this position is for a night shift SOC analyst

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active CompTIA Security+, Network+, or baseline industry certification

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers
Target Base Salary Range: $70,000- $80,000
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Security OR 1+ year of experience in a Security Operations or cybersecurity role
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
