Job description

Abacus Technology is seeking a Security Manager to support personnel, property, facilities, operations, and material security for Wright-Patterson AFB.  This is a full-time position.


  • Recommend, evaluate, maintain, and/or operate systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials. 
  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites. 
  • Exercise delegated access control to secure areas. 
  • Assisting in opening and closing controlled areas, arming and disarming facility alarm systems as required, and accomplishing end-of-duty day security checks. 

10+ years experience in security management including at least 3 years in a DoD environment.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements.  Must be able to perform analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative tasks focused on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.  Must have thorough knowledge of Federal government, DoD, and Air Force guidelines, policies, procedures, and regulations as they pertain to security. Must be knowledgeable of DoD security procedures including classified transmission, protection of incoming mail, courier requirements, security incident reporting and security violation sanctions.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.  Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
