NOW HIRING โ€“ SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER (SRO)

The City of Grants Police Department is accepting applications for the position of School Resource Officer (SRO).

This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and positive school environment while building strong relationships with students, school staff, parents, and the community.

The School Resource Officer performs a variety of law enforcement and public safety duties within the school setting, including:

  • Campus safety and security
  • Crime prevention and investigations
  • Mentoring and positive student engagement
  • Traffic and pedestrian safety
  • Community-oriented policing

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Include:
โ€ข New Mexico Certified Law Enforcement Officer
โ€ข Minimum three (3) years of certified law enforcement experience preferred
โ€ข Valid New Mexico Driverโ€™s License and have and maintain a good driving record.
โ€ข Ability to pass background, drug screen, psychological, and physical requirements

Must obtain School Resource Officer (SRO) certification within one (1) year of assignment.

The selected candidate must be able to work effectively with students, school administrators, staff, parents, and the public while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
