Position Summary

Reviews physical security controls protecting information assets that create, receive, maintain, or transmit sensitive data, validating each department's ability to safeguard secure areas and equipment from unauthorized access, tampering, and theft.


Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical walkthroughs of technical infrastructure (data centers, server rooms, wiring closets) at County facilities.

• Systematically identify and evaluate information assets that create, receive, maintain, or transmit PII/ePHI.

• Document physical control gaps (badge access, visitor management, equipment tagging) and remediation recommendations.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of physical security assessment experience in enterprise or government environments.

• Working knowledge of physical security control frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53 PE controls).


Preferred Qualifications

• PSP (Physical Security Professional) certification.

• Experience assessing healthcare facility physical safeguards under HIPAA §164.310.


Travel

Onsite travel required to department locations in San Bernardino, Colton, Redlands, Rialto, Fontana, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair, Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley, Adelanto, Barstow, Needles, Big Bear Lake, and Yucca Valley; travel, lodging, and per diem are firm-borne.
