Job description

Indiana Masonic Home Compass Park is looking to add to our Security Team. Compass Park is a vast 320-acre community in the heart of Johnson County adjacent to Indianapolis. It is a vibrant community through all seasons and a place of beauty, rich in tall trees and winding footpaths. This job is in Franklin, IN.

Security Officer Responsibilities:

  • Patrol on foot, golf cart, or security car the interior and exterior areas of assigned locations to ensure personnel, building, and equipment are secure.
  • Observe and report suspicious activities and persons.
  • Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports.
  • Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
  • Must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports on the computer.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; uses client keys to open and close buildings; monitors closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities.
  • Watches for irregularities, such as security beaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, and the CEO as required.
  • Responsible for assisting with development and implementation of physical security and safety programs.

Security Officer Requirements:

  • Experience as a security guard, police officer or military police officer preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older required
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with security camera usage
