Job Summary:
Venus Aerospace is revolutionizing rocket engine propulsion. The Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) will lead the cybersecurity program, focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems across the enterprise while collaborating with various teams to ensure comprehensive security integration.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement secure systems, networks, and applications aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC, and applicable government regulations.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans, lead investigations, and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership on security strategy, emerging threats, and technology investments.
• Maintain detailed security documentation, policies, and reports for audits and executive reviews.
• Mentor and guide security engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development.
• Define and communicate the long-term security roadmap, aligning with organizational goals and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business units to integrate security into all projects and initiatives.
• Establish repeatable processes for security reviews, risk assessments, and compliance audits.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in information security engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or senior role
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO), encryption, identity management, and secure network design
• Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and vulnerability management platforms
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor technical teams
• Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP
• Experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and zero-trust architecture
• Background in defense, aerospace, or highly regulated industries
• Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear business language
