Responsibilities:

  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct
  • Respond to alarms, calls of distress, or emergencies such as fire, injuries or presence of unauthorized persons by calling police, fire departments and/or local emergency response teams.
  • Makes periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons
  • Prepare clear, concise, accurate reports.
  • Operate access control systems, utilize a computer for incident reports, navigate security software systems or applications and use email.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance.
  • Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications and performing in a high-pressure environment
  • Other duties to be determined by security supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Prior law enforcement experience, military and/or corrections experience
  • Applicants must meet one or any reasonable combination of the following requirements:
    • Two years of customer service experience
    • Two years of security experience
    • Law Enforcement Experience
    • Corrections Experience
    • Military Experience
    • Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or something similar

Requirements:

  • Valid state licensing, if applicable
  • 21 years of age and High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email.
  • Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands.
  • Familiarity with report writing
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • Possess above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with client staff and the public.
  • Trained in CPR and First Aid preferred
