Job description

  • 16 hour part time position requiring alternating weekends (Friday, Saturday)
  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
    •  
      The primary function of a Safety and Security Officer is to perform varied and specified tasks during designated times relating directly to the observation and documentation that all campus facilities, property and personnel are safe, secure and in accordance with developed policies and procedures.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • Proven ability to perform duties and tasks in accordance with established standards. Security Officer, Corrections Officer, Police Officer, intensive behavioral health/residential treatment experience preferred. Experience in hospital environment preferred
    • Education and Training:
      • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • DRIVER - Driver's License
      • De-escalation training within six months of accepting position
      • CPR Training within 6 months of accepting position
    • Other Requirements:
      • Ability to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner.
      •  Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
      •  Strong verbal communication, computer and documentation skills.
      •  Demonstrated ability to assess potentially violent situations and safely restrain patients and/or visitors when needed. 
      • Must be able to react calmly and quickly to diffuse unpredictable situations that may involve physical confrontation. 
      • Adaptability to occasional variations in shift commitment.
      • Successful completion of MRI safety module.
