Job description

Overview

Enterprise Security Services Corporation is bringing its security services to western Maryland and now hiring Unarmed Security Officers for the Hagerstown area. As a women-owned and minority-owned firm with three decades in the industry, we're seeking reliable officers who take genuine pride in keeping local businesses and their communities safe.

Where you'll work

Work is spread across client sites throughout Hagerstown and the surrounding Washington County area - manufacturing facilities, retail stores, shopping centers, and comparable venues. The site you're posted to depends on current coverage needs and can shift from one assignment to the next, so we're after officers who can dependably cover locations throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Stay visible on-site to discourage shoplifting, property damage, and after-hours entry
  • Walk regular rounds of the building and grounds, confirming doors and entry points are locked and secure
  • Oversee who comes and goes at controlled entry points, checking credentials as the site requires
  • Give clear, friendly help to shoppers, tenants, and employees who need it
  • Handle disturbances and emergencies with a calm, level head, following each site's protocols
  • Track camera feeds and flag anything that looks off to the right people
  • Log daily activity and write up any incidents thoroughly and on time

Requirements

  • Hold, or be able to earn, a Maryland Security Guard certification, which we sponsor and process through our licensed agency with the Maryland State Police
  • Satisfy Maryland's age and eligibility rules for licensed security personnel
  • Come through a criminal background screening cleanly
  • Have a reliable way to travel to posts across the Hagerstown region
  • Show up on time, presentable, and professional every shift
  • Be fit to stay on your feet and move around the site for a full shift
  • A security background is a bonus, though we're glad to train the right person

Benefits

  • Paychecks issued weekly, right on our regular cycle
  • Shift times you can help shape around your own schedule
  • The chance to log more hours by covering openings at nearby sites
  • A path to take on more as our western-Maryland work grows

Uniform & equipment

You'll need to provide a professional Class A black uniform in your own kit; the company hands out any radios or communication gear a post calls for.

Schedule

Available hours run the gamut - daytime, evening, and overnight, plus weekend and holiday coverage - so flexibility across shifts helps.
