The Assistant Sanitation Manager supports the Sanitation Manager in overseeing all sanitation operations within the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, regulatory compliance, and employee safety. The Assistant Sanitation Manager provides leadership to sanitation team members, assists with training and development, and helps ensure sanitation activities are completed efficiently and effectively to support production operations.
Essential Functions
  • Assist and maintain the sanitation of facility and all plant equipment for conformity to regulatory and plant standards.
  • Sanitation daily walkthrough, following up with a full report to QA and Operations management team. Corrects unsanitary practices and conditions found.
  • Manage master cleaning schedules and related SSOP's.
  • Creates and coordinates equipment cleaning and chemical training for all sanitation employees.
  • Trains employees in the requirements of HACCP and other programs affecting food safety and quality.
  • Enforces company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.
  • Enforces companies GMP's policies, documents corrective action on any GMP violations, and conducts monthly safety meetings. Responsible for hands on coaching, training, and engaging team members through ongoing communication.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements
Position Requirements
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years of related supervisory experience in a food production/manufacturing environment.
  • Possess people skills with the ability to communicate through training and on-the-floor validation/coaching of general food safety practices and hands on management style
  • Must work alongside employees in the production area while also overseeing the department.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Able to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
  • Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
  • In this position there is a lot of walking, standing and bending.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • There is exposure to extreme temperatures (cold and hot).
  • There is exposure to dust and food allergens.
  • Personal protective Equipment is available upon request but is not required for this position.
  • Lifting 50 pounds frequently. All Lifts over 50 Pounds require assisted lifting
  • All machines are equipped with Protective guards. All safety protocols must be followed.

Compensation Range: $65,000-$80,000
Shift: Floating Schedule (weekend availability required)

Compensation is based on the level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
