Unarmed Security Officer-1st Shift
Role Overview
Security Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Security Officers to help maintain safe and secure environments for our clients. Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have or obtain a Valid Security Officer/Guard License as required by the state licensing authority
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have flexibility of scheduling

Duties & Responsibilities
Patrol & Surveillance • Conduct walking patrols to identify and report safety concerns • Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials • Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity
Incident Response & Reporting • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol • Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents • Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)
Customer Service & Policy Enforcement • Assist visitors and employees professionally • Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols • Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)
Required Skills & Abilities
Minimum • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments • Weekend availability • Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills • Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations • Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reporting
Preferred • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements (subject to change based on client-specific needs)
• Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break • Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping • Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping
Education & Experience
Minimum • High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred • 1+ Year of Verifiable Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience • 2+ years of verifiable customer service experience
