About the role
The Manager of Security Engineering will be responsible for maintaining and implementing an enterprise wide set of security tools that ensure that information assets are appropriately protected across KnitWell Group. This leader will ensure solutions are working as expected, implementing new solutions, and participating in risk assessments for initiatives. The position will oversee a team of security engineers and architects who have operational responsibility for monitoring, maintaining, implementing, and assessing security tools at KnitWell.

The impact you can have

  • Ensure that all security solutions in place are working as expected, and complete tuning or changes to tools as required when new risks or gaps in security are identified.
  • Design, implement and configure security applications and infrastructure to support corporate policies, federal and state security regulations.
  • Be an information security Subject Matter Expert; lead application and system development teams to configure and deploy systems and applications in a secure manner, including familiarity with Cloud implementations of applications and infrastructure.
  • Design, plan and conduct infrastructure security assessments of all layers of the information system including networking, servers, operating systems, databases and applications.
  • Understand a secure network infrastructure including the design of network segmentation, firewall policies, and configuration of security devices.
  • Perform security baseline discovery of current infrastructure and identification of gaps between existing procedures, policy, and industry standards/best practices
  • Participate in investigations of computer security incidents including incident response, containment of the incident and forensics.
  • Contribute to infrastructure security framework and policies to ensure KnitWell is able to meet its regulatory compliance and audit needs.
  • Research and identify industry information security best practices and develop an action plan for executing changes as needed to enhance system security and ensure the integrity of the KnitWell infrastructure.
  • Manage a team of resources who serve as technical leads on security projects and business projects.
  • Prepares deployment and post deployment plans to support the conversion and deployment of security solutions.

You’ll bring to the role

  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a combination of information security and information technology positions, demonstrating a progressive growth in responsibility. Bachelor’s degree in technology or business is preferred, or requisite experience.
  • Knowledge of technological trends and developments in information security and risk management including knowledge of security, risk and control frameworks, such as PCI, CIS Top 20, NIST, and ITIL.
  • Practiced in project management, financial/budget management, time management and staff management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals including knowledge/experience working with outsourced service providers such as MSSPs and cloud platform providers.
  • Experienced with contract and vendor negotiations.
  • Structured, logical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters with an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work both collaboratively and with little supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

This position works in a hybrid model, with 2 days per week worked in the Etna, OH location and 3 days per week worked remotely.
