Job description

Position Summary:
Responsible for the management of IT Security systems in a large enterprise, and designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our organization's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This position will be responsible for identifying threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software, then applying their skills to developing and implementing high-tech solutions to defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats and all types of cybercrime. This senior position will also serve as a subject matter expert to help mentor more junior members of the team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:
  1. Engineer security solutions without oversight while collaborating with multiple internal departments and vendors
  2. Mentor more junior technical members of the organization, best practices and standards
  3. Analyze security systems and seek continuous improvements
  4. Plan, implement, manage, monitors, troubleshoots and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks
  5. Responding to all system and/or network security breaches. Performs cyber security incident triage, reviewing logs, and performing remediation activities
  6. Enabling the appropriate security controls to protect the organization's data and infrastructure
  7. Research vulnerabilities, perform vulnerability scanning and alleviate threats
  8. Develop new processes while cross-training coworkers and assisting employees on security-related matters

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 7 years' experience in Information Technology with 5 years in a security focused role
  • 3 years in Security Engineering in multiple disciplines
  • Ability to travel to other McLaren subsidiaries as needed
  • Experience in large enterprise cybersecurity environments

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 10 years' experience in Information Technology with 7+ years in a security focused role
  • 5 years in Security Engineering in multiple discipline
