Job description

Job Summary:
Altec is a privately held company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices and specialty equipment. They are seeking a DevOps Engineer to build and maintain a stable infrastructure that optimizes service delivery across various environments, while also implementing automated solutions and enhancing quality in the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
• Monitors, troubleshoots, and continuously improves build, packaging, and deployment processes.
• Implements automated infrastructure capabilities such as backups, security tools, and monitoring for performance tuning and optimization.
• Applies a consistent DevOps approach to enhance quality across all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Utilizes tools for deployment, configuration, infrastructure as code (IaC), and version control (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Ansible).
• Maintains and supports network infrastructure, databases, cloud and data center operations, and security integration and protocols.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems, release gates, and change governance.
• Optimizes and manages cloud platforms.
• Develops scripts and programs using languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++.
Qualifications:
Required:
• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Bachelor's Degree (Technical Degree Preferred) and 4 Years Relevant Experience OR 6 Years Relevant Experience
• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems, release gates, and change governance
• Experience with deployment, configuration, infrastructure as code (IaC), and version control (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Ansible)
• Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuously improving build, packaging, and deployment processes
• Experience in implementing automated infrastructure capabilities such as backups, security tools, and monitoring for performance tuning and optimization
• Experience in optimizing and managing cloud platforms
• Experience in developing scripts and programs using languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++
