Description

Data Intelligence LLC is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to support one of our premier U.S. Navy customers in Dahlgren, VA. This position provides cybersecurity engineering and systems security support for Navy afloat and tactical combat systems. The successful candidate will assist in securing mission-critical systems through vulnerability analysis, cyber risk assessment, and the implementation of DoD cybersecurity standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support cybersecurity engineering and integration for U.S. Navy land-based and afloat/tactical combat systems.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, system security engineering, and military system specifications to ensure system compliance and mission readiness.
  • Assist with Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities to achieve and maintain system accreditation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs), Cybersecurity Test Procedures, and other program documentation.
  • Participate in system design reviews to ensure security requirements are identified, validated, and integrated throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation and remediation in accordance with DoD and Navy security policies.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and resilient system architectures.
  • Provide clear, concise communication and technical presentations to program stakeholders and leadership.


Required Skills/Experience

  • Program-Specific Experience: Minimum 2 years of security engineering experience working with Navy afloat/tactical combat systems;
    OR
  • General Experience: Minimum 5 years of general security engineering experience supporting DoD or similar complex systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of:
    • Computer security principles and practices
    • DoD cybersecurity policies and RMF processes
    • Military system specifications and architecture
  • Experience supporting land-based and afloat/tactical environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear documentation and deliver technical briefings to diverse audiences.

Certifications (Required)

  • IAT II or IAT III (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570 certification)

Security Clearance

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
