Job Description:Senior Security ManagerThe Role

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Senior Security Manager is a key leadership role within Fidelity's Global Security team. This role is responsible for supporting and leading the GSOC teams through strategic, technical, and operational objectives and coordinating crisis situations that impact our associates, business units and physical locations. The GSOC Senior Security Manager will use their leadership and knowledge of people, operations, systems, intelligence gathering and analysis, crisis/incident management, and Fidelity business units to help build and deliver a security plan of action and to make sure that operational teams are performing effectively. This role is instrumental in driving technical and procedural solutions for the GSOC that are thoughtful, innovative, and contribute to the safety and security of Fidelity associates, business units and locations throughout the world.

  • Applies advanced knowledge and experience to coordinate and oversee multiple activities within Security Operations including the delivery and implementation of the Everbridge Visual Command Center, asset protection, risk evaluation, response, investigative support, life safety monitoring and crisis management services.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Specialists and Lead Specialists in the execution of their core responsibilities, including threat observation, analysis, monitoring, and reporting. Ensure performance objectives are consistently met in alignment with GSOC operational standards, while fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork that drives both individual and collective success.
  • Ensures staffing levels meet operational needs and develops training appropriate for the Specialist and team Lead Specialist roles.
  • Evaluates teams use of various security systems and best practices using a data driven approach. Areas of evaluation include visual command center alerts, geo-fencing alerts, access control, video management, life-safety, communication skills on the phone and radio, proper use of mass-notification systems to facilitate the response to potential security/safety events, as well as incident and event reporting.
  • Promotes a culture where employee wellness and professional development are critical to maintaining a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Required to problem solve in complex and time sensitive circumstances to ensure a safe and secure associate work environment and to prevent or reduce impact to business operations.
  • Provides analysis of incident and event data to ensure reporting is accurate, timely and relevant.
  • Makes operational decisions based on current physical security and risk analysis best practices.
  • Responsible to monitor use of technical resources and where needed escalate to and assist technology team with system troubleshooting.
  • Provides guidance to site/branch leadership during incident/crisis response.
  • Leads projects that meet both technical and non-technical operational objectives, enhances team efficiency, and addresses identified gaps.
  • Required to act as event director or communications manager on incident bridge calls to enable business decision making and deliver incident communication to associates.
  • Manage and address situations of a stressful or sensitive nature, while maintaining Fidelity's confidentiality and information security practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions, workflows, and processes for the Global Security Operations Center are thoughtful, innovative, efficient, and forward-looking.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 plus years of security, law enforcement, emergency services, military, or other relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working in and leading personnel in a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), or similar command center environment.
  • A positive attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience directly managing people or leading a team.
  • Experience triaging and escalating Workplace Safety issues.
  • Broad knowledge of and experience with open-source intelligence gathering, analysis, and reporting best practices.
  • Basic experience configuring/administrating technical security systems such as access control, alarm/video monitoring platforms and other data capturing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Office 365)
  • Basic project management experience.
  • Experience in crisis and incident response, focusing on the ability to maintain a calm and efficient response in high-pressure settings.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a flexible scheduling environment (nights, weekends, and holidays) as operational needs dictate.

This position will be based in Smithfield, Rhode Island and will report to the Vice President / Head of the Global Security Operations Center.

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
