About the Role

As an Embedded Security Systems Technician, you will be a full-time, on-site technical resource responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing electronic security systems across a portfolio of corporate campuses and executive facilities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will work as an extension of the client's Security and Facilities teams, providing day-to-day technical support and ensuring that all security systems remain operational, reliable, and aligned with the client's security objectives.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex system issues, coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside vendors, support system upgrades, and install new security technology as required.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, proactive communication, exceptional customer service, and the ability to operate professionally and discreetly in a dynamic, high-profile client environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for the client's electronic security systems.
  • Maintain, support, troubleshoot, and optimize systems across multiple corporate and executive facilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system health checks, inspections, and testing.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving system hardware, software, programming, power, wiring, networks, and databases.
  • Respond to service requests and system incidents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term corrective actions and system improvements.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission new security devices and system components.
  • Support system upgrades, expansions, technology refreshes, and special projects.
  • Coordinate service activities with the client's Security, Facilities, IT, Property Management, Estate Management, and Security Operations teams.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, subcontractors, service providers, and other vendors when required.
  • Communicate service priorities, system status, technical findings, and corrective actions to client stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate service tickets, inspection reports, configuration records, and system documentation.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain organized inventories of equipment, tools, replacement parts, and system documentation.
  • Follow all client security procedures, safety requirements, manufacturer standards, and applicable codes.
  • Provide technical guidance and basic system training to client personnel when required.
  • Travel between client facilities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics, information technology, electrical systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant California licenses or certifications, including applicable BSIS requirements.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise electronic security systems.
  • Experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, perimeter protection, and low-voltage systems.
  • Experience with Lenel OnGuard, Mercury hardware, Salient CompleteView, Axis cameras, or similar enterprise security platforms.
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage logic and control systems, including relays, inputs, outputs, doors, gates, elevators, and locking hardware.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, circuitry, terminations, testing, and soldering.
  • Familiarity with IP networking, IP addressing, PoE, switches, VLANs, and security-system communication protocols.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, programming, database, and network-related issues.
  • Ability to configure access levels, access groups, schedules, alarms, permissions, and other system programming.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to document corrective actions and clearly communicate technical information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and escalate issues appropriately.

  • Experience supporting corporate campuses, executive facilities, estates, or other high-profile environments.
  • Experience managing small security installation, upgrade, or technology-refresh projects.
  • Manufacturer certifications related to LenelS2, Salient, Axis, Bosch, Mercury, or other supported technologies.
  • Experience working directly with Security, Facilities, IT, Property Management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with local and national codes related to electronic security, electrified locking hardware, life safety, accessibility, and emergency egress.
